A Miracle at Red Horse Stables!

On May 31, 2006 Diamond Spring Stud at Red Horse Stables welcomed into the world Don Primo dss at 1:16am and Don Bosco dss at 1:25am. It was the thrill of a life-time to be a part of such a miraculous and blessed occasion. Festive had a very easy delivery and thankfully she is healthy and happy. Don Primo and Don Bosco are so lucky to have Festive as their mom — she is the BEST!

And our thanks go out to Dr. Emond for the incredible care he provided for Festive and the twins — and yes — Festive was ultra-sounded… twice! The “boys” were just determined to make it into the world together. And a big thank you to our barn manager, Karin, for doing such an outstanding job in helping our boys into the world and to catering to their every need.

And now for the family…. Don Primo has the blaze and Don Bosco has the star. Their sire is Donarweiss ggf owned by Warren and Rachel Ehrlich of Greengate Farm. Festive is an Elite Hanoverian mare owned by Sharon Chelednik of Diamond Spring Stud and Red Horse Stables.

Just Born

Standing with Dr. Emond at only an hour “young”!
Now we’re dry and happy...

Highlights from our April 8 Charity Horse Show!

Our April 8 show was Wonderful! Everyone braved the cold rain and wind and sleet to help support our local community groups.

With your help, Red Horse Stables raised $1400 for The Animal Welfare Society of New Milford (AWS) and.... $1400 for a Post University Student and... $300 for PALS of Southbury and not to mention a small arm-load of books for the New Southbury Library!

Our Judge, Yvonn Coleman-Larsen, was incredibly helpful and encouraging to all the competitors. Everyone learned a lot from her positive and constructive comments. We can't wait to have Yvonne back on June 17!

Thank you, EVERYONE, for your kindness, generosity and can-do spirit! We have the most incredible group of boarders, employees, volunteers and friends that anyone could possibly ask for.

  • Strangles Policy (Streptococcus Equi): In the best interest of all horses boarded at Red Horses Stables, we require that your horse have the Strangles vaccine before delivery to RHS. If your horse has never been vaccinated, or it has been more than a year since your horse’s last booster, then please have your horse vaccinated with both the initial vaccine and the booster vaccine, which is administered 3 weeks later. We cannot accept your horse until both vaccines are administered.

If your horse has already been vaccinated for Strangles, then please make sure the annual booster vaccine has been administered within the last 12 months and please provide veterinarian documents. We realize that this Policy might pose a problem for some, however, we cannot provide proper quarantine for horses under the extreme threat of Strangles.
    Thank you for your understanding,
    The Management
